🩺 We often prioritize our work, whether at home or in the office. For a truly productive and happy life, we must make sure to also take good care of ourselves.

There are 2 main areas to focus on in our daily self-care routine. For us to improve our lives, both at work and at home, it is important we focus on both...
- MIND - with the goal of reducing stress levels
- BODY - which will benefit our physical body
By combining daily habits that serve both, you will ensure better overall health, both mentally and physically.
Here are some tips to help us have a healthy and productive work day. If you ever feel like you need a little boost come back to this page and go down the list, and check off what you’re doing for yourself, and make a note of goal and new habits you want to incorporate into your daily work day.
The MIND
- ROUTINE is always a good idea. Try to wake up at relatively the same time each day. Set a daily schedule for yourself. Less surprises equals less stress.
- TAKE SMART AND MINDFUL BREAKS. Make sure you carve out time for yourself throughout the day, this includes lunch. A lunch break doesn’t have to correlate with food, it can also be a time for mediation, a nap, or whatever makes you feel good. Try disconnecting from electronics when you need a mental break.
- MEDITATE. There are plenty of guided meditations available to correlate with the work day, check out some links on the An App for That page.
- SET BOUNDARIES. Turn off your notifications after working hours. Conversely, lets those around you know when you need focused work time.
- DON’T FORGET TO LOVE YOURSELF! Trying to juggle a work and personal life, sometimes we forget to give ourself a break, and a little love.
- CONNECT. We have growing community, and no matter what you are in to, there are sure to be others that share your passions. Check out some of our cool slack channels!
The BODY
- EYES. Make sure to take care of your eyes. This seems obvious, but remember your eyes need rest! It can also be helpful to use blue light blocking glasses, or eye drops.
- POSTURE. Create a working environment that allow you to sit fully upright and straight. We all get comfortable in various positions, which can lead to chronic back pain. Work on sitting up straight, with your feet flat on the floor. If your feet do not reach the floor you can always use a footrest. The more straight and upright, the less stress on you spine.
- MEAL PREP. Plan some healthy snacks ahead of time, that way when you get hungry, making healthy food choices will be a cinch!
- HYDRATE. Our brain needs water just as much as the rest of our body, drink up!
