Welcome to Day 4! You've almost made it through your first full week, and that's cause for celebration!
We'll continue the onboarding series with some details on how we blow off a little steam, how you can get around downtown and how we keep sensitive details of projects secure.
It's all fun and games...
Until someone approves their own pull request. But for real, we work hard, but we also know how to blow off steam. In fact, we have a whole team dedicated to it! Please talk to the Events Team if you have questions!
Community Channels
Speaking of fun and games, we have a variety of Slack channels built around various community activities at Bitwise. Seriously, we've got over 200 channels on our Slack account! Join as few or as many as you like. Here are a couple to look out for:
- #bitwiseboost - This channel is for pictures and videos of boosting up the community (relief) and each other while we are working remotely
- #bw-team-activities - This is the channel for the Team Activities group mentioned above
- #cybersec-news - If you're interested in cybersecurity or want to know how to protect yourself from the latest malware, this is the channel for you!
- #fortnerf - In this channel we talk about all things Nerf! Once it's safe to return to the buildings, we will commence our monthly Nerf battles hosted in the Bitwise buildings.
- #picsoritdidnthappen - Pictures from BW and community events.
- #propsandhighfives - Place to give high-fives, props, shoutouts, whatwhats, yeahdawgs, thatswhatsups, etc. Good vibes only!
- #pub-trivia - For pub trivia at Tioga-Sequoia and other venues! (We're currently doing these remotely)
- #social-media-fodder - Our marketing and PR teams share links to their new posts and content
- #bw-team-meetings - Place for Q&A and Feedback during BW all-team meetings (the regular Thursday morning meetings)
- #games - Join this channel and let us know what you're playing right now!
Keeping our passwords and secrets safe
By now you should have received an invite to Zoho Vault. Vault is our password manager of choice. Why is a password manager important?
