Welcome to Your First Day at Bitwise Tech Consulting!

Call it fate, kismet, destiny or chance... you finally found your way to Bitwise Tech Consulting, and we couldn't be more excited!  We also know that you probably have a ton of questions, might be wondering "What do I do with my hands?", or "Did I just see a guy walk by with no shoes on?" (don't worry, that's just Ken, he's cool).  In all seriousness though, we hope you're excited to be here, and we want you to know that we're over the moon about it. Now, how's about we address a few Day 1 things right off the bat...

• You should have received your computer by now. Take some time today to make sure it's setup just the way you like it! Here is a list of critical software we use at Bitwise Tech Consulting [link needed]. We've also got a pretty kick ass start up script you can run to install a bunch of the basics.
• You're going to be assigned a mentor. Think of your mentor as your dedicated buddy who is going to help you get started. They should be able to answer any of your questions or point you in the right direction. You'll also be doing some pair programming just to ease you into a project.
• We've got a Standards and Practices repo that has a lot of information (yes, you'll need to read a bit, and even contribute!) about how we do development at Bitwise Tech Consulting. It's always a work-in-progress, so feel free to fork, and submit a PR!
• We use Slack here for communication, so establish your account, and make sure to upload your photo today! It's always better when people can see who we're talking to! While you're at it, add a photo to your Google account as well.
• Complete the Developer Technology Survey. We use this information to pair developers up with appropriate team members and projects so that your skills are always growing. Expect to update your answers in this survey every 6 months as your experience increases.

Janelle Sanders (She/Her/Hers)

VP, HUMAN RESOURCES

As the VP of Human Resources, Janelle Sanders oversees Bitwise Industries’ Human Resources department, handling everything from onboarding new hires to everyday administrative tasks. Janelle’s goal is to ensure every single Bitwise team member feels a sense of belonging from the minute they join our team—and through every step along the way during their entire time with us.

The Bitwise employee experience is a unique one, and Janelle works with her team to make sure that “feels-like-home” culture is preserved while also propelling the company forward to new places and people. When she’s not working, Janelle enjoys baking with her kids, playing board games with her family, and her new hobby of gardening! [email protected]
